Grandma's 1981 Calendar Notes


Thursday, January 1, 1981:  The Bruce and Kathleen King Family left for Fort Benning, Georgia for Military Service as a Lt.  They moved their own furniture in a UHaul truck.  Kathy drove their station wagon with children, Kimberly Aaron & Nathaniel.

Saturday, January 3, 1981:  Betty & I stayed at LeMar & Anna Beth at Magna for Kari Lyn’s Baptism.

Sunday, January 4, 1981:  At Magna for Kari Lyn’s confirmation.

Monday, January 5, 1981:  King Family arrive at Fort Benning, Georgia

Saturday, January 10, 1981:  Betty & I filled out sealing assignment at Provo Temple and also did one endowment.  Annual Pl. Grove Irrigation Meeting.

Saturday, January 17, 1981:  Sealing assignment at Provo Temple and one endowment session.

Tuesday, January 20, 1981:  52 Hostages released out of Iran.  Ronald Reagan inaugurated President of United States.  Tabernacle Choir with Inaugural Parade.  They were the Highlite of the parade.  They sang the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

Saturday, January 24, 1981:  Sealing commitment at Provo Temple and also one endowment session. 

Tuesday, January 27, 1981:  Received tape from Allen in Becelod Phiilipines, very interesting.

Thursday, January 29, 1981:  January has been very mild ad dry; also very foggy.  Today we have our first winter storm.  Rain in the vally snow in Mt.

Friday, January 30, 1981:  More snow

Sunday, February 1, 1981:  attended service.  Annual Pl. Grove East Stake Conference.

Wednesday, March 25, 1981:  Today was a work day at the hospital.  There was a going away party for Mrs. Cottam.  She has worked 30 years.

Thursday, January 26, 1981:  Today I took Florence shopping for tile for her bathroom.  We both bought paper; she for her bathroom & I for my bedroom.  Jay Chapple brought over a gift for Allen & Karen.

Friday, March 27, 1981:  Worked today. Dad and I had dinner at the hospital and then I went visiting teaching at Kathy Govers.  She is a real special lady & I’ll bet a super teacher.
